When he released the music video to his latest single Gangnam Style on July 15th, PSY was no doubt hoping the song would be popular but what happened exceed everyone’s expectations.
Within weeks PSY went from being virtually unknown internationally to being infamous internationally. CNN International and Wolf Blitzer on CNN both had news spots about PSY talking about his song and sudden success.
The music video itself was considered a viral video when it started climbing upwards and achieved 9 to 11 million views. As of now the video is at 97 MILLION views and will shortly be at 100 million.
Gangnam Style by PSY has officially become the most viewed Kpop video on YouTube and to call it a viral video would vastly underscore the new found success and fame that has come in PSY’s direction.
Not only has he signed a contract with Island Records, also known as the record agency of Justin Bieber and Jennifer Lopez, but he will also be making an appearance at this year’s MTV VMA’s as you can read in this article here.
PSY’s fame has exploded and you can be sure that he is going to make the most of it.
